This shifter is exactly what I was looking for to replace some grip shifts on an old mountain bike. 3.0 Comp is compatible with my Shimano STX derailleur and works fine. Easy to replace since the cable is attached. I simply cut/removed the old cable and lubed this one where it was going through the housings and collars. I think I had it replaced in about 15 minutes and ready to ride. Note that this shifter does not have just three clickable positions. It actually has about seven or eight. There are a few clicks in between each number, which is fine as it allows you to click until the chain moves to the next gear without a lot of fine-tuning with the barrel adjusters.
