This material is a pain to work with during installation, as it tries to deform when you go to install the retainers in the clamps, but apparently this is the perfect material compromise between softness, grip, and gentleness to painted tubes.

I try to clamp the seatpost when possible, but you can't always, so you want a jaw that is gentle on the paint, but holds the bike firmly. This stuff is downright magic, worth every penny, and so far seems quite durable. Let's face it, I'm a Park Tool fan anyway, but this replacement jaw pad is really superior to anything I have used or seen used.

If you have a bike repair stand that can use this jaw pad, buy it! Even if you have to make it fit in a non-Park stand. And, if you DO have the real thing, but your jaw pads are worn out and ragged, spend the money on these. It's cheap satisfaction.

Freshened up my work stand with these. After I removed the old pads and put in the new ones, I clamped a 1/4" thick x 2" wide piece of wood in cable groove area. I then sprayed some WD-40 on the posts and used a 9/32" nut driver to drive the push-on retaining rings (flared prongs facing outward). Having the piece of wood in the clamp insured I could push the retaining rings all the way on.

These were perfect fit and extremely easy to install with included clips on a pre 1996 Park PCS-1 stand. Much better quality than the original 486G clamp covers that came the the Park 100-2C clamp.

Exactly what my old prs-11 stand needed. Thanks!
  • Reviewed in the United States on August 24, 2011
This replacement was exactly what I needed for my worn out clamp pads. The little clips to hold the tabs are a bit tougher to use than what I had on the original clamps. My main issue was that I couldn't get the new pads to slide into place. There are little tabs that must be put through little 1/4 inch wide holes. I tried pushing them in and clamping the clamp around something to get it in and several other things. The tabs had a tendancy to bend over and tear/deform instead of dropping into place. Finally in frustration I trimmed the little tabs and pushed them in most of the way. After doing that I clamped my bike up and by the next day the pads had seated all the way. If I replace them again I will probably try lining it up and clamping it around my bike to see if it works immediately. So, this is the exact replacement part, just tough to get on the clamp.
