- Reviewed in the United States on June 28, 2025I love this stand. I have severe wrist and finger arthritis and so I thought I would try stitching two handed to see if it helps. It does, less movement and it actually makes me stitch faster. Easy to turn to back side and move out of way. Would recommend the long arm attachment though for ease in situating the hoop in front of you. Grips q snaps well. Why did I wait so long?
- Reviewed in the United States on June 18, 2025Just set this up, after giving up on less secure wooden stands. This thing is industrial strength, yet easy to set up, & very easy to adjust. Took a little fiddling to decide best setup for me. But now that’s done, my stitching is going so much faster; no more constant stopping to adjust & keep hoop from wiggling. Hoop is securely locked down, but can be flipped over to see back of work without releasing hoop.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 10, 2025Just like the title says - I should have bought this years ago! I've been making due with a "jury-rigged" PVC stand that I found instructions for online, but it wasn't the greatest option, so I saved up my birthday/Christmas money and bought this as a gift for myself. Best decision ever! It's sturdy and very adjustable for different angles. It works great with my Q-snaps for larger projects. I was a bit concerned about how to get to the back of the project to tie off threads, but if you loosen the one connector, it's easy to just flip it over. I have also seen some people say that with a larger project it can try to tip over. I haven't stitched anything large enough for this to be a problem, but you can stack books or something heavy on the base to prevent this. (I stitch in a desk chair, so I usually have my feet resting on it.) The only slight issue I had was that the base can be a bit scratchy on hardwood floors, but that was easily fixed with a set of furniture leg pads. All in all, I'm very happy with my purchase (which came from another continent in less time than my normal orders from Amazon come from a few states away). Highly recommended!
- Reviewed in the United States on January 17, 2025I’ve been cross stitching for over 25 years and this is marvelous! Strong clamp holds QSnap firmly- swings away from my chair - easy for even me to put together. Instructions easy. Height adjusted to YOUR preference. You can easily “flip” frame to “ get to and see” the back.
Has taken a lot of pressure off my wrist.
Very Happy Customer ❤️
- Reviewed in the United States on August 7, 2024I did a lot of research before buying this stand. I have carpal tunnel and tendonitis, so it's difficult to hold my larger pieces. I tried all of the cheaper wooden stands, and they just didn't have the strength to hold my scroll frames. This stand also has a very convenient and easy way to flip your work to the back without removing it from the stand every time you need to finish a thread. I couldn't find that with any of the wooden stands.
The stand is sturdy and simple. I am disappointed though that it will not hold my qsnaps without an extra attachment. There are some tricks I read about online, but I haven't tried them out yet. Fortunately I do not need to spring for the longer arm either. I'm sure it's all worth it, but economically this is not a great time to be splurging on much of anything.
The stand actually came all the way from the UK and it arrived faster than things in the US do! Even after paying shipping costs it was cheaper than what some US based sellers wanted, so double check before you buy.
I would recommend it to anyone that cross stitches or embroiders and can't or doesn't want to have to hold your work in hand all the time.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 31, 2022Received this workstand from Great Britain almost 3 weeks ahead of the promised date, with good packaging (no parts damaged or lost, hooray!) and really clear assembly instructions. Took me less than a minute to set it up, then just a few more to see if it works with my needlepoint scroll frame (26" wide). Seems to work fine though I may do what another reviewer suggested and put a fabric-wrapped brick on the bottom plate to add a bit of weight to anchor the stand. I may also add little felt feet to the bottom to keep it from scratching my hardwood floor. Great tool for the price, and not too expensive considering the small fortune I already spent on the large hand-painted needlepoint canvas plus silk & specialty thread - - I need a large frame to even stitch it so this workstand is invaluable.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 9, 2024This is absolutely the best stand I have used for needlepoint. Well worth the cost ...
- Reviewed in the United States on January 9, 2023I’ve always used wooden stands because they looked prettier. But, after years of use and adjusting, they are no longer functional. This stand is very sturdy and easy to adjust. I only got the stand to start, but will be ordering the magnetic board holder and light bracket as soon as I can. The clamp held my scroll rod beautifully & it’s easy to get to the back of the piece to end the thread. I was told it would be three weeks or more before it arrived, but it was delivered in about 8 days. Very happy with my purchase
