Well made, stable, easy to adjust, head clamp works well
I like this stand because its aluminum, folds and unfolds easily, has good stability as long as you don't set the bike too high. I like the included stand mounted tool tray as well. It's also $50 less than the comparable Park stand and I've had stability issues with 2 legged stands in the past. The Park stands are steel and washing your bike on a steel stand invites rust but washing on an anodized aluminum stand poses no issues. The gripping head works well, it's a little fiddly to swivel the clamp head 180 degrees but it locks solid on the bike frame, especially an oval frame like I have on my legacy Gary Fisher road bike. I've been wrenching on bikes since the 1970's and I've used stationary repair stands, wall mounted stands and 2 legged stands. I don't have the room for the wall or permanent floor mount stand and this 3 legged stand fit my needs perfectly. The three legs give a steady feel but if I need to set the bike up high for working on a bottom bracket, I'll wedge the back leg under one of my tool boxes for extra stability. Overall, this stand was a pleasant surprise and my only major con was the stability issue with a high mounted bike that I cited above. One minor con is that I wish the main stand pole would swivel so I could set the 3rd leg directly behind the bike to improve balance. Otherwise this unit is well made, simple to set up and use and folds down fast. The magnetic tool tray is a definite bonus. Hope that helps!

I bought this because I wanted to work on my bikes. I tried it first on my ebike which weighs about 40lbs. I gave it 4 stars because of one thing that I didn't like. The lever you have to spin to lock in your bike isn't very ergonomic and has to be in the right position on your bike for it to work and lock down. Since my bike is full suspension, the pads that hold the bike are right where the suspension is. It's a very tight space to put the bike between the pads, thus not allowing the lever to move freely as it should. Eventually tried a could of ways and couldn't push down to lock it, had to leave it upright. Other than that, it's very sturdy, held up by ebike nicely. I was just scared to put my pedals on for fear it falling, but that was probably my paranoia. You need to watch the tutorial videos to really understand how all the levers work and how they lock . This will make your life easier, trust me. Overall I'm satisfied

This bike stand is great for the price. It's really a simple but proven design that has been copied and slightly modified from numerous other stands out there. The thing that attracted me to this particular stand other than the lower price was the fact it had 3 tripod legs with disc feet. When it comes to stability, I'm just not going to trust the V-shaped legs as much as a tripod. With a tripod, the load is spread out evenly all around (assuming the mass center is in the middle). Well, the stability is there, but since the bike mass is off the center, there does come a tipping point. Luckily even when rocking the bike, that point is not reached.

A little gripe I had though (which by modifying the stand I fixed), is that the clamp to hold the bike is positioned right in line with one of the legs. This means that you have to work on the bike being mindful of a protruding leg beneath. Even though this as probably intended for max stability, I found it unappealing and wanted to see if I could rotate the clamp in the center of 2 legs. After some dremel modification, it worked but at the cost of some stability. Still not enough to tip the stand though. I can always go back to the old position, so I'll have to see which I prefer over time.

The other things I really like about this stand over others is the ease with which it is setup and then folds up afterwards. For a stand that takes up such a large footprint when in use (and you want it to for stability), there is such a small compact footprint for storage. And the all-aluminum and plastic construction makes this stand super light and the plastic bits don't feel cheap.

For years I avoided investing in a quality bike repair stand; always jerryrigged something with saw horses and/or rope. Ordered this on the strength of its reviews, opened the box, set it up, and suddenly the clouds parted, the sun shown, and bike maintenance became so, so much easier. Solid, substantial construction, stable holding my rather heavy bike (50 lbs), I can find nothing at all to criticize. I ordered the tripod model with a 55 lb. limit, but I suspect it could support more. The settings are intuitive and easy to use, really, this is a great bike repair stand.

I wanted to replace my Spin Doctor stand with something that would be easier to operate. Specifically, was looking to have a level/cam for clamping the bike in one motion. While this tripod stand is well built, it has one minor and two major flaws that make it unusable for me:

    1. Minor: the tripod legs should be just a little longer to provide better stability. Not terrible, but could be more stable.
    2. Major: The bike clamp is tilted from the vertical plane by about 20 deg. When the bike is clamped by the seatpost, it is leaning to one side. I'm NOT talking about bike angle front to back (this is adjustable), it is leaning to the right of the bike (not adjustable).
    3. Major: with the cam lever, it seems the clamp should be able to grab the bike seatpost in one motion. However, the design does not open the clamp wide enough for the post to be inserted. So you have to loosen and tighten the clamp screw while also trying to rotate the cam/level to clamp the bike, while also holding the bike. I find it more difficult that my current rudimentary screw/unscrew stand clamp.

Unfortunately, better user experience with the Spin Doctor stand, returning this one.

For the price, I am very impressed. Not sure what I was expecting but I have to say I was surprised with the build quality and how well it performs. There is enough movement to get your bike into almost any angle but once it is balanced, it is not going anywhere. My full suss weight is around 35ibs and it supported it with ease. I had been looking at other units of the same kind but I am pleased that I chose this one and it comes ready to go straight out of the box
