This quality clamp is perfect if you need a bench mounted bike clamp and is the quality that you expect from Park Tools. It is an absolute must for newer bikes that have thicker and tapered tubes. By being able to clamp all varying tube styles, it does it well and really allows a good working height verses being forced to clamp on the seat post which puts the bike in an awkward and uncomfortable working height. Plus, there is nothing worse with a bike clamp than raising a bike up to be clamped and holding it with one hand and when reaching to clamp it only to realize that the clamp is not set to grip the bike properly. The Park Tools 100-5D Micro-Adjustable clamp can quickly adapt so that you grip the bike properly the first time! It can grip from 7/8" to 3" (23-76mm) tubes! I love it so much that I am buying another one!

I wanted a sturdy bike mount that didn't have an associated floor stand. This Mount does absolutely everything I had hoped, and doesn't take up much space at all.

I mounted this Workstand to a 2" X 6" X 3' board and I clamp the whole unit into my bench vise when I want to work on my bikes. Super sturdy, all the articulation I want/need, and stows away when not in use.

    Highly recommend!!!!

For years I have been working on bikes while propping them against counters or chairs, or balancing them upside down on their handlebars. I've often considered getting the portable workstands sold by Park or Nashbar, or Performance, but always resisted because it wasn't clear that they would justify the expense and additional storage space they would require. Now I have a basement with a workbench, and Amazon has the PRS-7 for under $140. This thing is far more stable than a portable workbench, and it takes a lot less space.

Caveats -- if you have a thin-walled frame, or one made from carbon fiber, clamp to the seatpost rather than one of the tubes. Make sure you place the clamp in a location where you have space to attach the bike facing either direction, as you will be able to access only one side at a time. Also, the arm is rather short, so you won't want to place it directly over cabinets or you won't be able to (fit or) turn your pedals. You need at least a short stretch of open countertop, with nothing underneath.

Some people have arranged temporary mounts of one sort or another, attaching the clamp to a board for example, which they then fix to their workbench with C-clamps. That's not a terrible idea, though I find the PRD-7 to be unobtrusive when not being used, so I have no need for such an elaborate configuration.

If you are a biker (bicycle) and you you are inclined to do even the smallest repairs or maintenance, you'll want a repair stand of some sort. This version has now been updated by Park; and like all their products it is a well-made quality item. You will be glad you have it when fixing gears, brakes, cleaning chains, etc... It can handle heavy use, and will hold the bike in place while you work. No more leaning over to have to make an adjustment, and no more unstable bike that moves while you work on it.

Performs as advertized, well made, but way too pricey for just holding a bicycle. The company should have recovered their design costs years ago on this product. If current manufacturing costs are whats driving the price then they should get a new manufacturer. Don't get me wrong, this mount is a pleasure to use, well made, and looks like it will last a long time. However, I think the majority of the cost of this mount is simply for the brand name.

Very solidly built. It's a simple design, but it does exactly what it needs to. Holds your bike surprisingly steadily, and let's you adjust and rotate the bike to the exact position you need to get just the right angle.

5.0 out of 5 stars Park Tool PRS-7-2 Bench Mount Workstand - Construction Not What It Seems!
Reviewed in Canada on September 7, 2019
I have been a long time owner of the Park Deluxe Pro Shop Repair Stand and when paired with the 31 kg baseplate, this workstation is absolutely awesome. It can handle any size and weight of bike with total ease. It is well designed, and extremely solid.
However, when I received my Park PRS-7-2 Bench Mount Repair Stand, I was somewhat disappointed with the amount of plastic in its overall construction. It is by no means in the same league of the PRS-3.2 Shop Repair Stand, and you should be aware of this before you purchase it!
Park Tools website is also deceptively remiss in detailing the materials of construction of the base and clamp device - parts that should be cast aluminum, are plastic. Beware - its a good thing my TREK Checkpoint gravel bike only weights 19 lbs.
