WALD
Wald bicycle baskets, racks, and fenders provide simple solutions to a complex global problem and can help you make the world a better place. Installing a bicycle basket allows you to bring home gallons of milk instead of burning through tanks of gas and drums of oil.
Wald strives to make products the majority of cyclists can use on their bicycles and become more functional at the same time. The biggest challenge we face in this effort is the lack of a universal standard. Bikes from various manufacturers may look the same, but the moment you pull out a tape measure it quickly becomes apparent that all bicycles are not created equal. While we believe our products can be installed by almost anyone, we recommend you have your local bike shop install your product at the time of purchase.

Be an Integral Part of Our Legacy
Bicycle baskets were not the first product Wald invented. Rather, it was a bicycle tire repair tool. But it didn’t take long for Grandpa Ewald and Uncle Herman to recognize what a difference the bicycle basket could be.
Nobody quite remembers exactly when or why, but one day Grandpa Ewald and Uncle Herman decided it was time to move on. The little shop Wald Cycle Company grew up in served the brothers well. The people of Sheboygan, Wisconsin loved their two-wheeled citizens, but Grandpa and Uncle Herman needed something new. A new product idea was always welcome, but this itch needed a bigger scratch. They had greater aspirations for their business.

We have two Huffy street bikes with balloon tires, just like in the old days!
We carry these bikes in our RV and must remove the handlebars to make them fit.
This basket took two minutes to mount to the bike and I immediately rode it to our mail box on our unpaved 1/2 mile driveway through a creek and up two hills. Rough, yes. The basket remained steadfast with no sign of loosening.
The addition of the plastic twist rub strip is a nice new feature, saves the paint wearing off when turning.
Niagara Cycle Works responded immediately to my email questions and sent the basket promptly, took three days. One could ask for no more.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 6, 2010We've now bought 4 of these, and just LOVE them! It's great to be able to take the basket into the store. They work fabulously, stay on great and lift off easily. One thing: strap the bracket onto the bike frame. When it bounces, it can get loose, but the major advantage to this design is that you don't have to permanently affix it to the bike or exert yourself at all. We used zip-ties on one bike, chenile stems on another, vinyl-coated twist-ties on the 3rd, and velcro straps on the 4th. They all work just fine. This is the easiest and most versatile basket I've seen.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 13, 2009When i bought the product i may not have read everything as well as i thought but i didn't see anything saying it wouldnt fit on racing / mountain bikes but when i opened it to put it on the directions said it wouldnt but i tried it anyways and while it doesnt really fit like it probably should, it is good enough. the part that should fit fully over the handle bars to hold it in place does not go on all the way so it kind of just sits on top but when i ride it doesnt fall off. it gives me apprehensions about using it as often as i like but it works.. i rode my bike to walmart and it stayed on without me holding it though when i go over bumps i get a little nervous when there is grocerys in it so i do hold the part that should but doesnt fit all the way down.. i have a Mountain bike but it is considered a racing bike because it has the handle bars that extend up from the handles.. like armstrong holds on his bike..
- Reviewed in the United States on August 22, 2013Overall this is solid construction the attachment to the holder is a bit non-inuitive but not too bad. The reason I am giving it only three stars is due to poor fit on bikes with handbrakes, which is not highlighted in the product description. You have to point the break levers on the steering wheel down, beyond the ideal position, in order to provide enough clearance for the basket to attack to the holder. The break and shifter cables also tend to get in the way. Overall this would work well on a cruiser bike but is less than ideal on a comfort bike.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 5, 2014the basket itself was a little too big and the clamp that is supposed to attach to the handle bar did not fit. Not sure how narrow the handle bars have to be for it to work.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 11, 2013Very easy to put on, no assembly needed. Very easy to take the basket off and on the attachment. The handle being fulling down locks it into the attachment. Thought that was very cool when I put it on my bike. I like the square style the best instead of the round baskets because you can fit a lot more and things are not lying on a angle like they do in the round ones. The size is perfect for a cruiser, not to big or small. It has passed the gallon of milk test with other groceries, so I would say it is pretty sturdy. You will be happy with this purchase.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 25, 2007The description is misleading.
It says "Fits most handle bars except racing style".
I have tried it on 4 different bikes (2 mountain bike, a street bike and a road bike), none racing style, and the basket fits none.
The hooks are either too small for the handlebars, even using pliers to bend the wires, or the basket does not fit under the handlebar stem.
BE CAREFUL BUYING THIS ITEM that it will fits your bike. It probably will not work with handlebar stems and does not work with thicker handlebars.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 26, 2012I ordered this basket in white for my Schwinn cruiser bicycle and it's perfect. Not only does it look cute, it's the perfect size, and was easy as pie to put on. Just hang the hooks over the handle bars, then hook on the basket. I was worried about the lift off basket falling off too easily, but the basket handle actually slips through the hanging hook to secure it, and the rack part that hangs over the handlebars has a snug fit, so I don't think it's going anywhere unless I dump the whole bike. I am definitely happy with this purchase, and at a great price!
