    I have seen other tire repair kits that have a puncture needle to make the hole and then place the plug... but this one seems to work just fine. I was riding in the snow and I punctured my rear tire. I was very thankful to have this thing with me. I applied the plug and worked great, in fact I still have it on my tire and I rode at least 3-4 times since then without a problem. I do carry a tube with me just in case...
