Park Tool TNS-4 Deluxe Bicycle Threadless Headset Nut Setter

The TNS-4 makes it quick and easy to install star-fangled nuts used with 1" and 1⅛" threadless headset systems. Using a durable steel driver and built-in guide, the TNS-4 perfectly aligns the star-fangled nut and sets it to the proper depth every time. The unique design virtually eliminates pinched fingers. Replaceable set screw (#822). The TNS-4 is for 1" and 1⅛" headset systems that use a standard M6 threaded star-fangled nut.

      Mutilating and banging on one of the most expensive parts if a bike is worrying to say the least. I will say the park tool adapter made this simple and care free.

      Park tool as a company is unique as you can look up videos and watch trained mechanics used the tool before you commit.

      That being said, it lived up to expectations, used it on a tapered fork, and was very happy with the results.

      When it comes to tools I am a firm believer of buying the right one the first time. No I’m not a bike mechanic so this isn’t some thing I’ll be using very often but considering it helps install some thing that’s related to my safety I figured why not get the right tool. I installed a brand new fork for the first time in my life and this tool worked exactly as intended and the way it’s designed there is absolutely no way to mess it up. The materials that I used to make this tool and how it was designed is flawless. However that does come at a price it’s not the cheapest thing in the world and a mountain bike fork change at my local bike shop is the same price as this tool, so to me not a bad trade off. If you’re even hesitating of getting this tool and you’re just starting to tweak your bike, I really wouldn’t it’s the right tool for the job, but you got to pay to play.

      Park tools certainly aren't the cheapest but they do provide excellent products. You don't often have to install a star nut but when you do, having the right tool makes your life easier. This tool fits over the steerer and it's literally impossible to set the nut crookedly. One or two whacks with a hammer and that nut is set perfectly and at the right depth. I recently installed three new forks on a few of my bikes and this made a semi-tough job a piece of cake.
